State #29: Tennessee Thunder Crunch Chicken sandwich

Good morning Tennessee, you are our next stop on our tour of 50 states and 50 sandwiches. Tennessee’s BBQ chicken sandwich with Thunder Crunch garlic ranch fries is worth the drive. Grilled chicken on a bed of lettuce, tomatoes served on a Telera roll topped with bacon, BBQ sauce and Smoked Gouda and served with a side of Thunder Crunch garlic ranch fries, $8.75.

State #28: Chicago-Style Spicy Turkey Italian

Hello Illinois,

That is correct folks, Illinois is our next stop as we continue our 50 state and their sandwich tour! Today’s Chicago style spicy turkey Italian has us toasting turkey, pepperoni, both Pepper-jack and Jalapeno Cayenne cheeses on a baguette topped with Jalapenos and both Peppadews served with a side of spicy curly fries and Chipolte Ranch, $8.75.

Our soup extravaganza will have Tomato Basil, Shorty’s Ghost Pepper chili, Spicy Black Bean, Parmesan Kale and Sausage, Roasted apple, bacon and Pumpkin and the usual trio of Chili, Chicken Noodle and the Lobster Bisque.

State #27: Wisconsin and Cheesehead Grilled Cheese

Good morning Wisconsin!

Today we have arrived in Wisconsin, so how could we do anything other than a grilled cheese!  We have cheddar, havarti, pepper jack, and a peppadew white cheddar cheese with bacon, tomato, and chipotle mayo on our chipotle-swirled rye bread with cheese-stuffed tater tots on the side for $8.75!

State #26: New Hampshire with the Black & Tan Fish Sandwich

Good morning New Hampshire!

After a quick pitstop back in Dayton yesterday for The Blanket Party, we are back on the road to New Hampshire where we have discovered the Black & Tan Fish Sandwich!  We’ve got Guinness beer-battered cod and Yuengling beer-battered haddock with American cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, and pickle chips on a brioche bun with a side of french fries for $10.00!

Soups today are Spicy Black Bean, Baja Chicken Enchilada, and Tomato Basil along with Chili, Chicken Noodle, and Lobster Bisque!

State #25: New York!

Good Friday morning New York!

It turns out some of Slammin’ Sammy’s family was a bit upset with her for giving away their 1,000+ year old recipe yesterday.  Her uncle from New York gave her a call and insisted that he has an even better recipe than yesterday’s Slammin’ Salami Sandwich.

Uncle Slamuel from New York has a Reuben Remix for us today:  grilled corned beef topped with creamy cole slaw, smoked gouda cheese, and a chipotle ranch dressing on a chipotle-swirled rye bread with potato chips and potato salad on the side for $10.50!

Soups today are Friday Favorite Tomato Basil, Boston Clam Chowder, and Spicy Bean Black as well as Chili, Chicken Noodle, and Lobster Bisque!

State #24: Montana Meat Monday: Flyin’ Rye Braised BBQ Pulled Pork

Good Monday morning Montana!

Our travels have landed us in Montana for Montana Meat Monday!  We’ve got a pulled pork sandwich topped with our kale slaw and a Flyin’ Rye BBQ sauce with a side of maple-cinnamon sweet potato fries for $8.75!

Soups today are Italian Wedding, Shorty’s Flamethrower Chili, and Baja Chicken Enchilada, as well as our traditional Chili, Chicken Noodle, and Lobster Bisque!

State #23: Oregon and a Shaved Sirloin Sandwich

Good morning Oregon!

Oregon is our next stop after North Carolina and we are serving a sandwich that the earliest Oregonian settlers used to eat while they were setting up their camps:  shaved sirloin with lettuce, tomato, jalapeno-cayenne and peppadew-cheddar cheeses drizzled with a chipotle ranch on a brioche bun and served with a side of onion rings.  The early settlers of Oregon even paid $9.75 for such a sandwich!

Good morning North Carolina!

North Carolina is our next stop after visiting Missouri on Saturday, and we found out that North Carolina celebrates Mega Meat Monday as well!  Today we have a half-pound of thick-cut prime rib with grilled onions and mushrooms, topped with smoked gouda cheese and a golden Carolina BBQ sauce with garlic-seasoned french fries on the side for $9.75!

Soups today are Baja Chicken Enchilada, Fire-roasted Veggie, and Mushroom & Brie Bisque as well as Chili, Chicken Noodle, and Lobster Bisque!

State #21: Missouri – Honey Sriracha BBQ Chicken Bacon Philly

Good morning Missouri,

The next stop our way threw the 50 state sandwich tour is Kansas City, Missouri with a honey Sriracha barbecue chicken bacon Philly.  Grilled chicken Philly topped with grilled Golden and Red Peppadews, jalapenos, onions, mushrooms on a Turano baguette with bacon, Jalapenos Cayenne pepper cheese, smoked Provolone cheese and drizzled with a honey Sriracha barbecue served with a side of Deli chips, $8.75.

Soups for today are Shorty’s famous flamethrower chili, chicken noodle, tomato tortellini, lobster bisque, baja chicken enchilada and chili.

State #20: Massachusetts and the Double Brady Burger

Good morning Massachusetts!

We have traveled from Louisiana to Massachusetts today and we have discovered that today is actually a state holiday:  Vegetarian Day!  After doing some research, we found out that this is actually Tom Brady’s favorite state holiday!  So, in celebration of the New England Patriot’s win last night, we are doing the Massachusetts State Burger:  The Double Brady Burger!  Two veggie burger patties topped with roasted red pepper, artichoke hearts, lettuce, tomato, onion, mushrooms, and fresh mozzarella with waffle fries on the side for $9.00!

Our veggie soups for Massachusetts’ Vegetarian Day are Fire-roasted Vegetable, Italian Wedding, and Friday Favorite Tomato Basil along with our traditional Chili, Chicken Noodle, and Lobster Bisque!
